Yesterday at our office we received a phone book. For some reason I totally forgot that they even existed. I immediately started asking my co-workers if they have used a phone book in the past year. Everyone responded with the same answer “no, we use Google” some of them even joked that they only use them for a door stopper.
Are the days of phonebooks really dead? Apparently so
So why don’t we just get rid of phone books completely? The number one reason: the law. Phone companies are still required to provide the directories to landline customers, even if people don’t want them. We could definitely save millions of trees per year however, only time will tell if we can one day get rid of them.
